|To find this one drive inland from Palmerston until you arrive at Kokonga and a substantial bridge. Before that bridge there's an intersection with the road coming from Hyde and Middlemarch. Take that road ane just over a kilometre down is a copse of trees and a side road called (logically) Cemetery Road. In fact the cemetery is right there in the corner of the junction.|
This cemetery is still in use. The area is enclosed by mature trees with some interesting variations of pines and is quite tidy, well maintained with an impressive carved sign at the entrance. Officially it is the SWINBURN-KOKONGA cemetery but it seems everyone calles it by the first name. It services the farming communities at the end of the Rock and Pillar Range.
