Mt. Surprise

Mt Surprise is a small township on the road across the Cape York Peninsula, and a stopover for travellers on their way to towns on the Gulf of Carpentaria, such as Normanton.
It is the current terminus for the Savannah train from Cairns, for the line is broken at Einasleigh. The cemetery is a forlorn patch of ground right beside the road..
